Learning and teaching in the scriptures, are substantially more than academic. It includes knowing and responding, along with being guided by God's principles in relationship to others to God. It calls for the student to place the Word of God into practice, not merely hear it (Jas. 1:22). It calls for hearing a word from the surface and placing it on the interior, so that it may be expressed in our every action. 2:1-7). God says, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6), and He admonishes us to meditate on His Word day and night that we may notice to do all that is written therein.
All things needs to be done unto edifying. Then it shouldn't be done, if what is being done teaches those present cannot. Just as with the gift of languages (that was spoken in the church to help everyone) so it's with prophecy. Those that listen will learn and be comforted. The final result of prophecy is to comfort, encourage, edify, strengthen, exhort, spark and help. ![]() We, as believers, are given the exclusive obligation in ministry to build others up. This occurs in various ways as we seek the accurate welfare of others, encourage harmony and peace, and walk in love. We speak things which are good and valuable to the spiritual progress of others, and have to prophesy unto the edifying of the church. With His message, He could have reached the entire world instantly with the web and television and radio. Here's your answer: I'm grateful for each and every new technology God has given us now to assist us bring the hope of the Gospel to almost every corner of the whole world. Every day we learn of people reacting to Christ read through our very own web ministry (frequently in nations that are otherwise closed to the Gospel), as well as the same is true of other ministries. But God did not create an error by sending Jesus to earth 2,000 years past!
