IMPORTANT INFO; Your Pastor Chris Explains How Our Lord and Savior Has Expanded the Concept of Love.3/13/2017 What exactly is the 2nd greatest command? If you're a scholar of Scripture, a believer, it's possible which you said something like "Adore your neighbor as yourself." If you did, you'd be appropriate - nearly.
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all of your soul and with your entire mind, Jesus himself said. This is actually the very first and greatest commandment. And this was Jesus' answer to the question, "Which is the greatest commandment in Regulations?" - referring, needless to say, to the Law of Moses. People come to me, Pastor Chris, as head of Christ Embassy and have questions about the most important commandment. Until Jesus came, the 2nd greatest command as stated in the Old Testament (Leviticus 19) was wholly acceptable. Actually, I presume it was the best we could hope for in relation to loving another human being. This is actually The Golden Rule (Matthew 7:12): Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you. But throw into the mix the reality that sometimes we don't even love ourselves. Sometimes we are able to genuinely fight to like that which we are, who we are, and certainly what we do. Just how can we be expected to love others if we don't even really know how exactly to love ourselves, as we love ourselves? There are days when many of us struggle merely to be nice to ourselves. So how do we love? Jesus gives the answer. Among our culture's greatest troubles is busyness. How about you? Are you the postal worker, oppressed with the monotony of an unending routine? Can you feel overworked without any sense of accomplishment? Are you currently withstanding the pressure and duty that you are put on by others? Are you really experiencing burn out? A long record of pros and hobbyists are ready to give advice. How will you be able to differentiate between the person who is just guessing and the person who truly knows what will allow you to? Please consider Jesus' invitation before you go to anyone else. "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry pastor Chris heavy burdens, and I shall give you rest" (Matthew 11:28 The Book). This gracious invitation comes from God's Son who "has been given power over everything" (Matthew http://urlm.co.uk/www.pastorchrisonline.org 11:27 The Book). "I will cause you to rest (I am going to ease and relieve and refresh your souls)." It is a release of God's power to work in you. It's God. Jesus explained that "Everyone who sins is a slave of sin" (John 8:34 The Book). Unforgiven and unconfessed sins are a significant weight that Jesus can take away. Coming to Jesus isn't complicated. Just call out to him."Jesus, I want your help. Please forgive my sins, take away my frustration, and give me your remainder." Jesus offers the solution to keep the remainder he gives. Listen, "Take my yoke upon you. Allow me to teach you because I 'm meek and tender, and you'll find rest for the souls" (Matthew 11:29 The Book). In that day the yoke of another meant to come under that man's direction and walk in his footsteps. Jesus was a teacher that is gentle and humble. The yoke, what Jesus needs and teaches, is useful wholesome and great. Never pressing, tough, sharp and unpleasant, but comfortable, nice and gracious! (Amplified Bible) The burden he gives is light and simple to carry. On another occasion Jesus said, "you're truly my disciples if you keep obeying my teachings. And you'll learn the truth and the truth will set you free" (John 8:31-32 The Book). Should you'd like to be free, accept Jesus' amazing offer of rest.
