Vital Information- Chris Oyakhilome Explains How Our Lord and Savior Has Expanded the Idea of Love.2/4/2017 What is the next greatest command? If you're a student of Scripture, a believer, it's possible which you said something like "Adore your neighbor as yourself." In the event that you did, you'd be correct - almost.
![]() Jesus himself said, "Adore the Lord your God with all your heart and with all of your soul and with your entire mind. Here is the very first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: "Love your neighbor as yourself." (Matthew 22:37-39, ESV). And this was Jesus' response to the inquiry, "Which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" - referring, obviously, to the Law of Moses. ![]() People come to me, Pastor Chris, as head of Christ Embassy and have questions about the most important commandment. Until Jesus came, the 2nd greatest command as said in the Old Testament (Leviticus 19) was wholly satisfactory. Actually, I think it was the best we could hope for in relation to loving another human being. Here is The Golden Rule (Matthew 7:12): Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you. But throw to the mix the undeniable fact that occasionally we don't even love ourselves. Sometimes we can really fight to like what we are, what we do, and surely who we are. How can we be anticipated to love others if we don't even learn the way to love ourselves, as we love ourselves? There are days when many people fight just to be fine to ourselves. So how can we love? Jesus gives the reply. In the gospel of John, Jesus said, "A new commandment I give to you personally, that you love one Pastor Chris another: Just as I've loved you, you also are to love one another." Jesus has lifted the bar.
